April 4, 2015 – John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13How much do you love? How much do I love? During this season of Easter, I wonder…just how much do I love Jesus? How do I respond to His Great Love? Is there anyway to return His Amazing Love that brought us Amazing Grace? There is no end to the Love of Jesus….it spans time, the universe, and eternity. His Love gives and gives. And all He wants is my Heart. He gives me life and purpose. He gives me my daily bread and teaches me daily His way of Joy and Peace. It is so easy to forget and be distracted in this Life from the purpose He gave me. It is when the “I” of Me gets in the way. I look for the easy way to live. We desire the ‘Easy Street’ of life — instead of following after Him. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6How much does Jesus love us? Read these words from John 15:9 – I have loved you even as the Father has loved me! Thinking of the might, strength and love of God — God is love. Now I am think of the most powerful hug I have ever had — and multiply a thousand times over — and I still cannot comprehend how deep, how wide, how long or how high God’s Love is.How do I get this love? It is not available over the counter. I must obey His commandments, just as Jesus obeys His Father’s commandments. Then I remain in His love. Then this season of the death, burial and resurrection is a time of over-flowing joy. Each day is another day of expectant living, waiting for the return of Jesus. One more thing. Love each other in the same way I have loved you.…. Love is not a trite word spread about with heart-shaped missives and glib words. It is your heart, my heart, being one with the heart of Jesus Christ and God the Father.“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. John 15:9-12
