April 13, 2020 – Psalm 98:1-2

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. Psalm 98:1-2.

Thankful for this Palm and the Joy we find in the Lord. The word, ‘new’ changes its understanding for us, as we grow older. I reveled in a new toy, a new pair of shoes, or a new dress for awhile. When I found  wonder in a new story in a book. After learning to play piano, I spent hours in the adventure of learning a new song to play and sing.

So many joys in our lives, marriage, raising four children, and enjoying twelve grandchildren, then ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons. We were content in the Lord. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23.

I sang many new songs of praise for His Marvelous Love to the Lord. Then the storm came! My husband entered the darkness of confusion, known as ‘dementia’.  This changed my world into one of serving, and understanding the blessings of the Lord.

In the silence of aloneness that is today’s world…my song becomes new every day as I look into His Word.  Every day is a new thought and a new mercy…from the Lord. For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures foreverPraise the Lord! Psalm 117:2

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. Psalm 98:3-5.
