December 10, 2020 – Jude 21-23
Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Jude 1:21-23.
How do we keep ourselves in the Love of God? Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:16-18.
Three action words describe this process. Rejoice, Pray, and Give Thanks. How is this possible to rejoice when we are not in the ‘mood’. Remembering who God is, and how He sent Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sins – a gift of His Love. Give Thanks in all situations and Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds. James 1:2a.
Pray without ceasing…by being in the attitude of prayer. Give Thanks continually. How is this possible? Through Jesus Christ will present us without fault to God. He is now and forever our glory and authority.
O God, the Father, I give you glory and majesty forever more, for You alone are able to keep me from falling into the chasm of sin, when I trust in You. Help me to show mercy to others who doubt. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
We are to love as Jesus loves us. “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25.
