October 6, 2020 – James 1:2-4
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4.
Trials will ultimately bring us the joy of a growing faith when hold on to our trust in Jesus. Just as diamonds are made from conditions of intense heat and intense pressure creates the precious stones, we become precious to our Lord God from the hard places in our life.
Patient endurance is needed, plus trusting in God’s wisdom as problems arise in our lives. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! Psalm 111:10.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore. I Kings 4:29. King Solomon asked in faith, for he did not doubt God’s Word.
Oh, Father God, Almighty, You are King, and I pray for the wisdom to understand and follow Your Word in all things. Help me to complete my life’s journey, crossing the finish line as mature and complete follower of all You are. I pray in the Name of Your Son, Jesus, Amen.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6.
