January 27, 2017 – Psalm 25:4-5

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:4-5

Show, lead, and teach me!  In this age of ‘fake news’, we want the truth, the right way, and the right path to walk.  The many world signs promising happiness and pleasure beckon us continually. My Mom, Anna Daisy Siemens, loved to explore. She often tucked the three of us into a 20’s vintage Ford and we went down one road and another. We bounced along the ruts enjoying the scenery and chattering about what we saw.  Suddenly Mom stopped the car.  We could tell she was concerned about something. She walked ahead

We bounced along the ruts enjoying the scenery and chattering about what we saw.  Suddenly Mom stopped the car.  We could tell she was concerned about something. She walked ahead and came back. “The bridge is out, and there was no sign, so I checked!”  She turned the car forward and backward until we headed back to safety. We breathed a sigh of relief when we knew we were safe again.

God sees our road ahead, warns us to turn back to His path, to Him and safety.When we listen and follow His Leading, we will not go astray.  God loves us beyond comprehension. When we are filled pride and choose our own way, we find, not salvation, but ultimate death.  We fall into a deep chasm of anger and pride churning in our hearts.

Turning our lives around and finding the Truth in One who is good, and shows us and leads us in His Way. The world betrays us, it is the Lord who leads us with unfailing love and faithfulness.“You give life, You are love, You give hope, You restore every heart that is broken. Great are you, Lord!”

The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. Psalm 25:8-10
