January 20, 2017 – Psalm 19:1-3
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Psalm 19:1-3
How often the world stands still to see a rainbow a promise from God in the sky. How many times we try to decipher God’s message to us from the matchless glory of His Creation. A painter’s brush or the most expensive camera cannot capture the silent messages of love God gives all around us. This is not surround sound, but ‘surround love’.
There is nothing as perfect as the instructions of the Lord that revive our souls. His commandments bring joy to our hearts. His decrees make us wise. When we have reverence for our Lord, it is the only forever true love that lasts forever. Long ago these song lyrics intrigued me, On a clear day, rise and look around you, and you’ll see who you are…You will see from far and near, the world you’ve never seen before. On a clear day, you can see forever and ever more. (Gershwin & Lerner)
When our world is not cluttered with sin-clouds, we can see with a clear eye the love of Jesus Christ. It is the forever Jesus-Joy filling our hearts!
I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. Psalm 19:7-9
