July 25, 2016 – Psalm 101:1-2

Psalm101-1-2I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise you with songs. I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. Psalm 101:1-2Every day, it isn’t about me, but it is all about God and how He is glorified through me and the choices I make to live for Him.  I often think of the Psalms of David and how he sang of the God Almighty and praised Him.So set yourselves apart to be holy, for I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 20:7.  This cannot be done in our own power, but only through the Holy Spirit that Jesus gives us when we follow Him.  Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him,  throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.  Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.  Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.  Ephesians 4:21-24All around us, we see the vestiges of sin, that come through living without Jesus.  It takes strength to stand firm in Jesus that can only come through Him.  It takes humility to confess our sins and keep our lives holy – For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13.Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.  I Corinthians 16:13.Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  Matthew 22:37-38

I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. Psalm 101:3
