April 24, 2020 – I Peter 5:6-8

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you,  casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.  Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. I Peter 5:6-8.

How big is our God? Beside the God, who created me, I am nothing.  When I consider all He has created, I am  in awe. No one is like our God. As the Spring season bursts forth in color as His love for me. Each flower is a visual hug to give me the love I need when our world is in turmoil.

Then the words appear with a sweet smelling aroma – He cares for you.  His care enters every facet of my life, with His purpose, His creation, His Purpose, His steadfastness, His Glory, His Salvation, and the righteous living.

Our adversary, the Devil, comes in various guises, to lead us astray and tempt us.  The Son of God was tempted three times by Satan. The last time Jesus said, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve!” Matthew 4:10.

Be firm in your faith!  Trust in Him. We are tempted and our response  counts.  Our God, through Christ, will restore, confirm, strengthen and establish each of us.  Even as He cares for us, we reflect His Love by caring for others.

To Him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 5:13b

Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.  And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.  I Peter 5:9-10.
