April 23, 2020 – Psalm 28:6-7

Blessed be the Lord, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him. Psalm 28:6-7.

David relied on God for His strength, asking God to not turn away from him, but to rescue him from his many enemies. David learned the Lord God heard him.

How often we want to do  great things. This only happens when we rely on the God’s power.  Storms of many kinds during a life time gives us the opportunity to call on the name of the Lord. Who else can create the thunderous wind that threatens us? A pandemic can sweep in cause fear and doubt and danger.  Our Lord God gives us many times in life to choose God.

It is when we understand where our strength comes from, we know, He truly is our strength.  As children we learn – God is Love. It is His love for us.. How precious is your steadfast love, O God!  The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings!  Psalm 36:7.

From generation, God has cared for His People. He knows each one of us and He knows our hearts.  He knows truth.  Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. John 14:23-24.

The Lord is the strength of his people; He is the saving refuge of his anointed. Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever. Psalm 28:8-9.
