November 5, 2019 – John 6:35-37
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. John 6:35-37.
From the time we are born, food and water are two needs our body wants and needs. We are not satisfied until these two desires are met. God plants another desire in our hearts. He put a sense of eternity into man’s heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
The world offers many ways of providing our enjoyment, yet only when we understand the will of the our Father in Heaven will we experience the true joy God has for us. This joy leads to eternal life. We have the assurance that Jesus will never cast us out when we come to Him.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. Psalm 37:3-5.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Matthew 5:6
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of Him who sent me. And this is the will of Him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:38-40.
