August 27, 2019 – I Peter 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I Peter 1:3-5.

What has God done for us that we might have hope?  Our Father God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world, to teach us, and then be sacrificed on the cross for our sins.  It didn’t end on the cross, for our Father God raised His Son on the Third Day from the dead. When we are reborn through the Gift of His Grace, we will receive an eternal inheritance in Heaven.

Our Faith in Jesus grows through testing through trials in this world.  Can anything in the world separate us from God’s Son?  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.  Romans 8:28.  How deeply do you choose to love God and His Son?

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:6-7.
