June 28, 2019 – 2 Samuel 22:47-49

The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock, and exalted be my God, the Rock of my Salvation, the God who gave me vengeance and brought down peoples under me, who brought me out from my enemies; You exalted me above those who rose against me; You delivered me from men of violence. 2 Samuel 22:47-49.  

Why did God consider David as a man after His own heart? And when he had removed him (King Saul), he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’  This is the way to please God. Acts 13:22

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent people you save me. 2 Samuel 22:2-3.  

How do we describe our Lord God and His Work in our lives? Steadfast? Immovable?  Faithful? True? When is the last time you picked up a huge rock and tried to move it?

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:58.

“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loose the cords of Orion? Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth? Declare, if you know all this.  Where is the way to the dwelling of light, and where is the place of darkness?” From Job 38. 

For this, I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your Name. Great salvation He brings to his king and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his offspring forever. 2 Samuel 22:50-51.
