June 10, 2019 – Lamentations 3:25-26
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:25-26.
Where can we find hope for all our tomorrows? Where is the river of Hope and Joy?
Who will hear us when we are in the pit of despair and weary from the concerns of the day? Who will give us love and peace from the fountain of living water? “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14. Jesus gives the answer.
“Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.” Lamentations 3:40-41.
We search for something that will last forever, beyond this world. The chapter of Love ends with the answer. We cannot live without faith in You, oh, Lord. Your love brings us Hope for each day spells faith everlasting. “So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest is love!” I Corinthians 13:13.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.
The song we sing from childhood begins our faith. Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so!
“I called on Your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit; You heard my plea, ‘Do not close Your ear to my cry for help!’ You came near when I called on You; You said, ‘Do not fear.'” Lamentations 3:55-57.
