October 2, 2015 – Isaiah 40:28

Isaiah40-28Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28This Creator, this Lord of All is more to us than we can fathom.  He gives us strength when we have none.  So many times in our lives, we feel we cannot go on.  We lose heart and courage.  We cry, “No more!”Then we need to check our Trust-O-Meter and evaluate if we truly trust in the Lord.  For only then can we find the inner strength to go on.  When we are young, we think we can conquer the world and reshape it to our liking.  We set ourselves up as the ‘god of our universe’.  We listen to the platitudes of the world that we are able to do anything we put our mind to.  We are all powerful. When we enter the time, often called the sunset years, our physical strength leaves us, and we know the truth.  It is only through God, hearing, believing and trusting Him completely for our whole lives, that we know lives must center in Him for all things.  Our Lord God does not live in a small box in the corner of the room that we can open in dire stress.  He walks with us and talks with us day and night.Read again these words and drink them in to the very marrow of your bones…’But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.’For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:13. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.  This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.  I Corinthians 1:24-25. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.  I Corinthians 15:43He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. Isaiah 40:29-31
