April 11, 2019 – Exodus 14:23-24
And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians. Exodus 14:23-24.
How do things look in the morning? What changes? Psalm 30:11-12 describes relief, praise to God, and the assurance of Faith in Him. You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
It is God Himself leads us in this life when we trust in Him. He becomes our best friend. Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me. Psalm 5;8.
Patient waiting take courage. When we want to ‘fix’ things in a hurry, we cannot see the whole picture like our Lord does. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage;wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14.
The children of Israel were fearful for their lives, and waited. God didn’t leave them alone. God taught the Egyptians a lesson. They learned God’s might is greater than their 400 chariots. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10.
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High. Psalm 92:1
And He took off their chariot wheels so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.” Exodus 14:25.
