March 6, 2019 – I John 5:11-12

And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I John 5:11-12.

How can we be confident we have eternal life?  It is when we say, “I love God,” and we also love each other, no matter how difficult it may be.  We do not choose our biological brothers and sisters, and neither do we choose our spiritual brothers and sisters in the Family of God.  Our Christian family may be annoying, yet they are a test on earth of our true love for God.  

If we love God, we also love His Son, Jesus. For without Jesus we can not have eternal life.  He gave His life as a sacrifice on the cross so we can be forgiven. 

 Praying the words from the Word of God will please God. An example is, May the words of my mouth
 and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14. The Lord’s Prayer is  in Luke 11:2-4.  

We read intricate lists of things to follow to have a happy life on earth. Praying and thanking God is all we need.  Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. I John 5:13-14.
