January 9, 2018 – Psalm 37:8-9

Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Psalm 37:8-9.

There is no room for anger when we dwell on the abundance of peace and delight in the Goodness of God, He provides.

Our anger stops when we realize how great the never-ending power our Lord God has over the world He set into motion.  Who else is able know when I sit down or stand up, or knew my thoughts before I was born? (Psalm 139:1-6). Verse six:  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand.

“I can never escape from your Spirit!” Verse Seven.  When we become angry, we reveal the condition of our hearts.  Anger needs control.  Anger indicates no forgiveness rests is in our hearts.  Anger, that red-hot lightning bolt of feeling, shows a desire to judge others.  Thoughts of anger is disobedience of God’s command to love one another.

How is it possible to never be angry?  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.  Colossians 3:15.  Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:18.

Delight in God and walk with Him each moment of each day.  Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity. Psalm 37:10-11.
