May 17, 2015 – Ephesians 6:15-17

Ephesians6-15-17For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:15-17What does it take to follow Christ?  It takes a heart of Peace, Faithfulness, Salvation and a mind filled with the Word of God.  What motivates this peace and faithfulness that lead to Salvation?  It takes Love.  We can never hope to have the unbelievable, overwhelming love that God has.  Our hearts are not big enough, our minds are not vast enough to comprehend such love.  We know that laws are made to be broken, therefore laws cannot coerce this kind of God-love.We follow God by faith in Jesus Christ.  Yet, it is within men to doubt bits and pieces of God while looking for absolute faith in God. “Where is your father?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.” John 8:19.Through Jesus, in the flesh, we know God in the Spirit.  If we deny that Jesus is God’s Son, we deny God.  If we accept Jesus as our Savior, son of God, we accept that God IS and He is the One and Only God who created all things. We are made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ.  We are filled with the Joy of the Eternal when we believe and follow Jesus Christ.  Peace without envy or rancor fills our hearts when we believe and follow Jesus Christ.  Salvation without any ‘maybe’ is a surety when we believe and follow Jesus Christ.

Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law. Galatians 2:16
