June 29, 2018 – Colossians 1:15-16

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16.

The life of Christ did not begin as the son of Mary on earth. He always was.  These amazing words tell us Who Jesus is. To God first, and to us. This same Jesus gives us hope. He is our strength and made things unseen. This Jesus loves you and He loves me.

Everything was created through Him and for Him.  No wonder He called the children, to come to Him.  Now I understand in part why He heals the lame and the blind and frees the captive. He created us to be holy and to be perfect.  Perfect in ways we can see and perfect, too, in our hearts and minds.  He created us for Himself.

Jesus Christ holds all creation together despite the scientists’ words of doom.  He is supreme over all creation.  For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.  Colossians 1:13-14.

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.  For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.  No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:16-18

He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together. Colossians 1:17.
