February 12, 2018 – Psalm 18:1-3

I love you, Lord; You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3.

Amazing, the four words say it all, You are my strength! The following verses in this describe this strength in terms we can understand.  Rock, Fortress, Shield, Safe Place, Protection, and Worthy of Praise.

He saves me from my enemies.  Often, my worst enemy  is me.  It is when I am unable to humble myself and live these Words:   I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little….For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:12-13.

How often do you praise God?  How many times do you say in thankfulness, with tears in your eyes, I Love You, Lord?  I adore you, Oh Lord?  Why does God rescue us, even from ourselves? The answer is in the last four words, He delights in me.  What does that mean?  To charm, enchant, captivate, thrill, be thankful for is just a part of God’s delight.

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:3-4.  Trusting in our Lord God for everything in this life, is a two-way DELIGHT between our Lord and each of us!

He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters. He led me to a place of safety; He rescued me because He delights in me. Psalm 18: 16, 19.
