November 20, 2016 – Psalm 119:1-2

Psalm 119:1-2 – Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.

Some things walk hand in hand, and some things come in order.  When we consider an authentic joy, it waits for a response from someone.  We can not buy this joy!  It is not wrapped or does it have a glistening bow on it.

This gift of Joy was wrapped in starlight and the presence of angels from Heaven announcing the birth of a baby.  But the ‘was’ is not just a ‘then’.  This Joy is now and forever.

What is the key to this Joy the Baby Jesus brings?  The Gold Key to Joy is Loving God with our whole hearts – and loving others.  Love means obedience and often, sacrifice. And Jesus gave His very life for you and me, it is His Gift!  Through His Gift, We learn to find Joy and keep the Joy of His Gift, not for a season, but forever.

He teaches us the paths to walk through His Holy Spirit…and learn to trust Him for every need we have.  He forgives us when disobey and falter.  We seek him, not just one time — but over and over every day of our lives. Lurking behind every curve is darkness that can capture our hearts. Being alert and single minded alerts us to these dangers.  How much do you treasure God’s Word? Our Lord God gives us strength that brings completeness!

Praise the Lord!  For he has heard my cry for mercy.  The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:6-7

They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. Psalm 119:3.
