November 15, 2017 – Psalm 38:8-9
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Psalm 38:8-9.
Every one is hungry for something. What are you hungry for? A grand feast with many courses of food served on the best of china? Or do you hunger for the joy of goodness, love, and peace? We have two hungers – physical food and spiritual food. Both hungers give life. One life is the life we are in now, and the other – forever life – is when Jesus comes for those who trust in Him.
Sometimes we are not aware of the hunger we have for God, He placed in our hearts. Have you tasted and seen His glory and his love? Once we choose Jesus, we realize our great hunger and thirst for Him. He quenches our thirst for the glory and love He is. Taste and see! As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2.
Are you trusting in the Lord? Have you tasted, do you see? We will lack no good thing when we trust Him. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. Psalm 38:10
