October 19, 2017 – Romans 12:9-10

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:9-10.

From the time I can remember I liked to ‘play-like’.  But love is one I couldn’t play-like.  God, Who is Love, doesn’t play-like when it comes to loving us!  He loved us from a long ago before time began.

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!  Matthew 5:44.  These are the words of our Lord God’s One and only Son, Jesus. Is this difficult?  Yes!  We must forget ourselves first, and love others before ourselves!  The Lord God created the world, He made a way for us to be with God, forgiven of our sins through Jesus Christ.  Serving others translates into loving others.

How?  Enthusiastically!  With our whole heart, we rejoice in our joy of hope.  And two more ways we can show love.  Be patient and keep on praying.

Think of one person you have you have a hard time dealing with.  Pray for them.  See them as God sees them.  Then you will learn to truly love one another. Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  Matthew 22:37-39.

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:11-12.
