September 18, 2017 – I Chronicles 29:14
I Chronicles 29:14 – But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
Everything we are and everything we have is given to us by our Lord God in Heaven. The very air we breathe is a gift from God. There is nothing we can give God, which is not already His.
The truth of next verse slams into our heart. We are strangers in this land. We are just passing through. There is not time to debate the ‘God is or is not’. Have you ever wondered why man fears God or those who love God?
Adam and Eve’s sin against God, wanting the knowledge of God Himself, is repeated over and over. Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden away from the presence of God as their punishment.
God let’s us choose Him. God made a way for us through Jesus Christ, His Son to forgive our sin. Jesus makes us God-ready through His great love. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6.
Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Romans 6:14-16.
I Chronicles 29:15 – We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.
