June 20, 2017 – Psalm 36:5-6
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. Psalm 36:5-6.
Have you ever considered the word, Precious? This word was not a part of my every day vocabulary until I met someone who used this word often. Her love for others shows through her conversations and prayers.
I searched the scriptures, the Word of God, and found ‘precious’ describe God-created gold and jewels and other things not made by man. Faith (1 Peter 1:7, 2 Peter 1:1), Truth (2 Timothy 1:14), Blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:19), a Gentle and Quiet Spirit (1 Peter 3:4), and God’s Promises (2 Peter 1:4).
In this world today, we often search for the truth. The world often declares the ‘fake’ for the truth. Where does truth begin and end? From the One sent to earth to teach us how much God loves, Jesus Christ! Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6.
Not until we see others’ hearts with compassion and love, do these words have meaning: How precious is your unfailing love, O God! The only way we can truly love is to acknowledge Jesus as our Way and choose to hold His Hand and let Him lead us.
Another word holding endless shining light joy in a clouded life is Delight. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23. When we walk with the Lord, we bring delight to the Lord. Just as a joyful and obedient child delights his parents. What does it take to delight our Lord? Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7.
