May 19, 2017 – Psalm 9:1-2

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O most High. Psalm 9:1-2.

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Psalm 16:11. Do we know our Lord so well, we feel and know His Presence?

My husband of more than sixty-five years has Dementia and is blind.  He no longer calls me by name.  Yet, he often comments, when you are close to me, it is a comfort.  Our visits are filled with Scripture, Prayer, and listening to Gospel music, plus chatter about our family.

Yesterday, I realized there is a parallel in the presence of those we love.  Our lives are more comfortable when we know the presence of Christ Jesus in our lives.  We do not see Him with our eyes, but with our hearts. When we pray to Him, sing praises to Him, knowing He reigns forever and faithfully in our hearts, we know His Presence.

Our Lord is truly a refuge and stronghold in times of trouble for each of us.  He becomes the center of our lives. When He calls us to live with Him at the end of our time on earth, we will feel at Home.  His Presence on earth is all about us and His Presence gives us Peace as no other Being.

Sing Praises and tell of His Goodness and Kindness. Now is the day, now is the hour to draw closer and place our hand in His Hand.  Blessed be the Lord!

The Lord reigns forever; He has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in Righteousness and judges with peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:7-9
