November 8, 2016 – Psalm 84:1-2

psalm84-1-2How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God. Psalm 84:1-2Can you imagine what Heaven will be like?  The place that doesn’t have band aids or beds!  A place where we will find joy, laughter and love.  No anger, no hunger, no need to sleep, and no need to cry.  There are no bills to pay either.  No light switches because God is our light.  This is where the streets are paved with gold.  No one tells us to lower our voices.  We will be singing God’s praises. It is the best place to be. No wonder we long to be there more and more as we grow older.  In this life we learn about God and his greatness.  Just as there is no end to the number of stars and we can’t see to the end of the universe and there is more to learn about our Father in Heaven.Living in the House of God, his Home is such joy, we will never stop singing His praises.  Ask yourself, what is your greatest joy and delight now?  Is it a ball game, a party, a new game?  These joys grow very small when we think of the Joy of Heaven.  How do we get there?

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.  Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:3-5.  This is a beginning!!!!

Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God! What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Psalm 84:3-4
