September 29, 2016 – Hebrews 3:6

hebrews3-6But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ. Hebrews 3:6Who is Jesus?  This Jesus who loves me?  The Bible tells me so.  I sang this song as a child, and didn’t understand. I often asked, Why could He love me or Why would He love me?  Who is this Jesus Christ?  He is the Son of God.  And more, Jesus is in charge of the House of God.  And we are that house!  We are the windows, the walls, the roof.  IF.  If we are courageous and remain confident in the Hope of Jesus Christ. This confidence is a ‘no matter what’ kind of courage.  Even as God is steadfast…never changing…we are to be and can only be strong in his name.  So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.  I Corinthians 15:58From the moment we first love Jesus until we become gray and old, we will trust and be faithful to Him.  This love inside of us grows only one way. From the Words God gives us in His Holy Word and prayer. Like a fire in our hearts, God’s Word becomes ever more rich and sweet and becomes our treasure. If we let the fire of love go out, we lose the promise to share in all that belongs to Christ Jesus for an eternity.  Jesus Christ is sitting on the right hand of God and praised.  He is where there is no evil, no tears, no death, no separation from God ever.  This is ours by being faithful and trusting.Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere—from east to west—praise the name of the Lord.  Psalm 113:2-3

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Hebrews 3:14
