May 17, 2016 – I Peter 3:10-11

IPeter3-11“Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.  I Peter 3:10-11How hard is it to have good days?  Have you figured it out yet?  First, you have to figure out what is good…and how it happens.  If we have our own way?  When everyone else does what we want?  Say what we want, not be truthful?   No?  Here is the answer – Turn away from the bad and look for peace.  Not just look for it, but chase it until you find it.  Why?This is the way – it is found in only one Person.  Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6  When I think of Jesus as my compass, He shows and leads me on the right path.  He is the truth.  He is without sin.  And He, alone creates a good life now in us now and for an eternity. How did this happen?  It has always been.  Where is the foundation — the beginning.  Nothing is built from the roof down.  Always from the foundation up.  Jesus was foreknown before the foundation of the world. How can we be sure that Jesus is who He says He is?  The same God the Father, Jehovah, raised Jesus from the dead on the third day.  The world tries to say God is dead.  He and his Son, Jesus, are alive and well.  God gave Jesus glory!  History will always know that this same Jesus lived on the earth.  Why?  So that we will always have faith and hope in God.We always have faith, or believe in something.  But only through Jesus can we believe in a good life, when there are no lies and when we chase after His Peace that teaches us trust and gives us Hope for living!..but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. I Peter 1:19-21
