John4-10The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”

Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”
“But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water?  John 4:9-11
Again I see that God’s Creation is used as a way to teach us.  Not only is water necessary for survival on this earth, but Living Water gives us hope and the joy of living in the Way of Jesus – with love and forgiveness.  Every time I lift a glass of water, I praise God for His mercies that are new every morning.  As the day dawns, it reveals again the ever new creation of brilliant colors and living beings that give our eyes a feast.  And more.
God cares for us in many ways we cannot even see or know.  He answers prayers.  He mends our hearts.  He prepares things for us to do.  When we listen to Him and rely on Him, He leads us.  But what do I do?  Colossians 3:23-24 tells us….Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
Ever dream about digging for gold?  The nuggets are in God’s Word.  His Words speak to us just as we need them.  They bring hope, insight, understanding and delight.  A verse a day enriches us beyond anything the world can offer.  God’s Word is our inheritance when the Master we serve is Christ.  Next time I lift my glass of water, I will praise God and thank Him for providing for me in so many ways.  How Great Thou Art….
