April 19, 2021 – Psalm 37:3-4

Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3-4.

This Psalm is dear to my heart, as I heard my Mother quote this Psalm over and over. She loved God’s Word and I learned the definition of the word Delight as she quoted this Psalm.  Committing our way to the Lord and trusting in Him begins by believing His Word.

Hungering and thirsting for righteousness comes from believing Him and taking Him at His Word. Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.  John 6:35.  How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  Psalm 119:103.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.

Dear Father God, Teach me to trust in You.  Help me to believe your Word from, ‘In the beginning God created‘ to the last verse,  He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20.  I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Love the Lord, all you His saints! The Lord preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!  Psalm 27:23-24.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!  Psalm 37:5-7.
