“Just as I swore in the time of Noah
that I would never again let a flood cover the earth,
so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you.
For the mountains may move and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain. Isaiah 54:9-10Mountains speak volumes of the power of God. My first journey to the top of a mountain in an old Ford car chugged too close to the edge of the road and brought fear and trepidation. I looked down into the valley from the car window and took a deep breath. I wanted to return to the beginning of the mountain. Finally we arrived at the top of Pike’s Peak and looked all around. The vista thrilled me. My spoken desire? “Let’s build a house and live here forever!”The wonder that Faith can move a mountain, that God has the power to move mountains with its massive size and rocks creates a picture of an awesome God. I can understand now the joy of fleeing to the mountains for refreshment and renewal. Not only does a person feel more near to God at the peak of the mountain, but a mountain underlines the strength and the might of our Lord God.A mountain-top experience brings us to the pinnacle of faith. For each mountain-top experience is a gift from God himself. It is like breathing in the glory of God. It is as if breathing the air of a mountain-top experience fills our lungs with the joy of eternity.Thank you, Lord God, for creating the majestic mountains that reminds us of the joy of living with you eternally. I believe! Lord, help my unbelief…May the glory of the Lord continue forever!
The Lord takes pleasure in all he has made!
The earth trembles at his glance;
the mountains smoke at his touch.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath! Psalm 104:31-33
