January 5, 2016 – Psalm 147:4-5
He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! Psalm 147:4-5He made all the stars—the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the southern sky. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles. Job:9-10. Not only did God create the stars, but He named and counted them. He set them in place in the Heavens. God doesn’t make a mistake or a ‘do-over‘. He is the great Shepherd, when one sheep is lost, he searches until the lost sheep is found. (Matthew 18:11-13)He wants to keep his people safe — that includes you and me. We often don’t understand Him, yet if we truly trust Him, we know – God is love – and He loves us! He places us on this earth where we can be blessed and live safely in His Love.Help us to listen and heed His Words of Wisdom from the time we are very young. Even King David, the one who killed the giant Goliath, became a mighty warrior, the one who became King, understood God’s wisdom. I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Psalm 85:8.God gives us a safe place to be if we listen to His Words of Wisdom. A soldier can only ‘save’ by killing people God created and God saves our souls for eternity. A mystery, indeed! Our minds cannot understand the workings of God’s mind. Contentment comes when we listen and trust our Lord God who created us, and created the world we live in.Glorify the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! For he has strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within your walls. Psalm 147:12-13
