January 6, 2017 – Psalm 20:5

May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers. Psalm 20:5

What makes you shout for joy? Is it a winning team?  Is it a prowess in sports? Or could it be what God does in someone’s heart and or in yours? Some of the sweetest joy there is, comes when we serve others in the name of Jesus!  When Jesus gets the glory, we get the joy.We often hear, It’s not about you!  And we think – no, it’s really about me!  And we boast, just as nations boast of their riches of chariots and horses – their things.Whose name is above all names in your heart?  Whom do you wish to serve with all your heart? My little brother learned a memory verse long ago. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21.  Have you found your treasure on earth yet?

It doesn’t reside in an ornate treasure chest.  It is following Jesus, giving Him the glory for everything you do.  Living in the name of Jesus is the key.  When the people asked Jesus when He was in need, His answer quickly came. And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’  Matthew 25:40.

There is power and life in the Name of Jesus!

Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
