Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14.
When we are forgiven by our Lord, we forgive others. We are God’s chosen, when we live holy lives. When I read this scripture, I picture a heart filled with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience. We bear with one another and forgive. This heart of goodness is tied up with a ribbon of love. The love God offers us, when He sent His Son to earth to teach us how to love.
Living in the Peace of Christ Jesus, His Will, not ours, will create thankfulness. When we love others as Jesus loves, we will find His joy and sing psalms and hymns. When we speak and do everything in the name of Jesus, we know we will never be alone. For Jesus is always with us and we trust Him to guide us.
When our heart aches for peace and joy, and read: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless His people with peace! Psalm 29:11. I see the answer…BE His People! Nothing like the joy of belonging! For nothing will be impossible with God. Luke 1:37.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17.
