We Shall Behold Him!

       Behold!
Behold is an intriguing word we seldom use now.  How often it is used in God’s Word in
reference to the extraordinary!

In the process of creation of our world
no one proclaims – ‘Behold!  Your World.’  Yet, we are in awe of wonder at the
complexity and glorious beauty of all that surrounds us.  How can we close our eyes to WHO God is? The
earth is filled with His Gory.
I cringe now, remembering a tableau of
Mom coaxing, watering and tending to the cascade of colorful flowers in her
garden.  I asked, What is so beautiful
about flowers?  Her answer opened the
door to the complexity of design and color for each flower God created.  It was a “Behold Moment”.  She opened the door of my heart to see and
know God!
God is the “Why” of all we see and
hear.  With God’s love in our hearts,
each day is a Behold Day, for we see the evidences of His Love all around us.
I am reminded of God’s Great Love, when
I visit my husband in the nursing home and see the caregivers showing God’s
love to each resident as their personal ministry.  I am reminded of His Angels appearing in
unexpected places.
The life of Jesus was a series of
Behold! Nearly every healing and miracle Jesus performed was prefaced with
“Behold!”
         Luke 1:31 – And behold,
you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
         Luke
2:10 – Then the angel said to them, “Do
not be afraid, for behold, I
bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
         Luke
2:34 – Then Simeon blessed them, and said
to Mary His mother, “Behold,
this Child is destined for the
fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against
         Luke
7:27 – This is he of whom it is written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare
Your way before You.’
         Luke  24:39
Behold My hands and My feet,
that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and
bones as you see I have.”
         Acts
1:10-11  And
while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men
stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you
stand gazing up into heaven? This same
Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as
you saw Him go into heaven.
Who wrote the lyrics to the astounding
event of seeing God Face to Face?  Dottie
Rambo, born in 1934.  She was born in
Kentucky and began writing music at the age of eight.  Four years later she became a Christian and
made a commitment to write and sing Christian music.  At the age of sixteen her life became one of
travel and singing songs to glorify God.  In 1981, Dottie Rambo tells this story…
As we pulled
out of the driveway of the motel, it was about sunset. I saw one of the most
beautiful and unusual cloud formations. I have always loved beautiful cloud
formations. I saw colors that I had never seen in my lifetime. It seemed that
the clouds almost took on the form of angels. The colors were so brilliant and
unusual—blues, azures, and amber.
       Presently the clouds parted.
By this time I was weeping so much that I couldn’t see to drive. It seemed, as
the clouds parted, as if I could see the Savior coming in the clouds, with
trumpets sounding.
I said to my young companion,
“Patty, you’re going to have to drive. I can no longer see.”  She didn’t
know that the Lord was giving me a song. It was being written in my heart
because I had nothing on which to write.
       Before we reached the tent
meeting, the Lord had given me the whole song. When I got there I could play
the entire piece on my guitar. Every phrase was exactly as it should be.
The sky shall unfold, preparing His entrance; the stars
shall applaud Him with thunders of praise. The sweet light in His eyes shall
enhance those awaiting, and we shall behold Him, face to face.  We shall behold Him. Yes, we shall behold
Him, face to face in all of His glory. We shall behold Him
Will we be ready to see Him in all of
His Glory in His Time?
         Revelation
4:2-3 –
 Immediately
I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat
there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the
throne, in appearance like an emerald.
Romans 14:11 – For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every
knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”
         Revelation 3:20-21 – Behold,
I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I
will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me
on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
         Hebrews
9: 9-10 –
then
He said,
“Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.”
He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By
that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus
Christ once for all.
         I
John 3:1 –
Behold
what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called
children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know
Him.
Revelation 3:11 – Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast
what you have, that no one may take your crown.
         Revelation
21:5 –
Then
He who sat on the throne said, “Behold,
I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and
faithful.”
         Revelation
22:12-13 –
“And
behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End, the
First and the Last.”
