Take the Next Step by Faith
How
we ponder each decision. To go or not to go, to do or not to do. We often find
ourselves in a wilderness of indecision any way we turn. All we desire is
the assurance that each decision is the one for us. We procrastinate for weeks,
and we have decided.

ourselves in a wilderness of indecision any way we turn. All we desire is
the assurance that each decision is the one for us. We procrastinate for weeks,
and we have decided.
Moses couldn’t ignore the life or death decision. The choice between drowning
or being slaughtered by the six hundred charioteers racing after them and then
the Lord spoke.
Then the Lord said
to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the
water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry
ground.” Exodus
14:15-16.

God made a Way for His Children to cross the Red Sea. No matter how hopeless
life becomes for us, He makes a Way when we seek His wisdom. Did the
Children of Israel wonder about their safety? Step by step they obeyed as
the chariots continued their crescendo of thundering wheels.
Learning to trust God in all the twists and turns until our life meanders to a
close and brings us the opportunity to know Him in a way like no other.
Long ago we sang George Beverly Shea’s song, My
God and I go in the field together;
We walk and talk as good friends should and do; We clasp our hands, our voices
ring with laughter; My God and I walk through the meadow’s hue.
How do we learn
to trust God fully? Have you realized the reality of Genesis 1:1-2 in our
lives? In the beginning, God created the heavens and
the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and
darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the
surface of the waters.
All
around us is His Creation. From the faraway stars to the depths of unbelievable
design of a single flower, God created all we see in nature. We hear His
music from birds; we see the sequence of seeds to bearing plants. Each
little baby born comes from God. God creates Man in His image.

design of a single flower, God created all we see in nature. We hear His

The
power and majesty of the love God has for us, not for just the here and
now. It is ours for eternity when we become His children. The
beauty of this heaven and earth is beyond comprehension, we are often
awe-struck with wonder and praise. I can only imagine the incomprehensible beauty
of eternity.

Believing and faith cannot be built in a day, but day by day, living
in His will. Our hearts cannot fathom eternity, yet our Lord God sees far
beyond what we will ever see. It is through faith in Him, our next step becomes
visible. He lights our way, step by step.
Every page in the Bible reveals God’s love for us. God is Love. Love is
His language. Over and over His Word repeats the how and why of
God’s love. God the Father sent Jesus, His Son, to be the sacrifice for our
sins.
How
often we wonder, what is next? The two of the greatest commandments Jesus
taught us are this: “‘You must love the Lord your
God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the
first and greatest commandment. A second is equally
important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew
22:37-38.

When loving God and others, our heart opens to the needs of others and
ourselves, and we learn how much we continually need to let God lead us to fill
our hearts with His Reality. And Who is God? “I am the Alpha
and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one
who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” Without this
Love, we are blinded to God’s love and how to love Him and others.
It is God who leads us and guides us know what
the next thing to do will be. Every step we take in the name of Jesus
leads to Him.
Once, I wondered what I must do next, and wrote this.
What do I do, dear Lord – To show my love for You?
How can I
witness Your love – How can I make my life anew?
witness Your love – How can I make my life anew?
Then a small
voice whispers – Deep within my heart
voice whispers – Deep within my heart
“Do the next
thing, my child – Do the next thing, it’s a start.”
thing, my child – Do the next thing, it’s a start.”
Each morning
when I arise – My heart to Him I bring
when I arise – My heart to Him I bring
When I ask
what to do – He whispers, ”Child, do the next thing.”
what to do – He whispers, ”Child, do the next thing.”
The tasks I
see before me – Are not the grand things I long for
see before me – Are not the grand things I long for
But being
faithful in – The next thing — with Him, I’ll soar! (eac).

When we go forward in love, we find the
deep joy in life and the peace passing all human understanding.
