September 5, 2018 – Hebrews 1:3-4

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave Him is greater than their names. Hebrews 1:3-4.

Who is this Jesus? Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, He has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son, He created the universe. Hebrews 1:2.

When we doubt who Jesus is, we do not know God, His Father. Jesus is the Light, the Bread of Life, the Way, and the Truth. Hebrews 1:12b – But You are always the same; You will live forever.

“Where is your father?” they asked.  Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is. If you knew me, you would also know my Father.”  John 8:19.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him!” John 14:6-7.

Jesus is the sweetest name I know, And He’s just the same as His lovely name,  And that’s the reason why I love Him so; Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know. (Lela Long)

For God never said to any angel what he said to Jesus: “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” God also said, “I will be his Father, and He will be my Son.” Hebrews 1:5.
