Psalm65-13aThe grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy! Psalm 65:12-13King David had the heart of a poet, and he was a man after God’s own Heart.  David was a shepherd as a boy, and Jesus is a Shepherd of all His people. One of the things that is so amazing to me, is the fact that there are so many introductions to Jesus in the Old Testament.  I wonder, would I have believed Jesus while He walked the earth?  Do I believe him now?  Or have I put him into a box?Who is Jesus to me, who is Jesus to you?  Do we fathom the mysteries and the depth of his love?  Can we truly hear his voice?  And do we follow Him more avidly than following Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter? We are always wondering, ‘What’s in it for me?’  It is what each of us longs for more than anything…to belong to someone who we can trust and loves us totally.  Belonging to someone who brings us peace and joy.  Belonging wholeheartedly. Are we His Sheep?  Are we protected from the Destroyer?  Will we follow Jesus and have eternal life?  It is a choice each of us must make.  How awesome to have this opportunity to choose.  To know Jesus is to love Him.  The world promises gratification.  Jesus offers life eternal.  There is no comparison. As for me, I will follow Jesus.Jesus answered, “I told you, but you don’t believe. Everything I have done has been authorized by my Father, actions that speak louder than words. You don’t believe because you’re not my sheep. My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand. The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from him. I and the Father are one heart and mind.” John 10:25-30
