September 26, 2016 – Psalm 57:8-9
Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. Psalm 57:8-9
How many times have I felt the joy of the Lord reveal itself and a song comes bubbling out of my soul? The news of the Christ Jesus reveals Him through a joy that cannot be contained.
His love for each of us is as high as the heavens. He is my true light! No other man, born on the earth, can give forth such magnificence and glory, his credentials come from God above.
While celebrating Christmas with family, I felt the overwhelming need to go see my husband in the nursing home. He was asleep. Then he stirred and responded in a different way. His arms reached for me with tenderness. After months of not responding, this was a true gift.
I asked him if he felt confused…he replied, no. I know this happened as a Christmas gift to me. Jesus is the Reason for the Season is often quoted, but there is no passing season of the love of our Jesus for each of us. Wake Up!
He awoke to the real world just as is written – Wake up, my heart and praise God! The only reality in this world is the faithful love and the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. When we wake up to the reality of Jesus’ Love, we wake up to the realness of hope, joy, and peace that brings a never ending song of praise and thankfulness into our lives.
For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 57:10
