September 25, 2020 – Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.
Just as fruit ripens on a tree, so do the qualities of our heart grow through the gift of the the Holy Spirit. As I read these qualities, I ask myself, have I listened to the direction of the Holy Spirit, given through Jesus Christ?
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:3. When we love Jesus, we are more patient, kind, and good to others. Are you desiring Peace in your hearts? Go to the source.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27. Do you desire to experience love? A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35. Possibly you want happiness that lasts? You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. I John 4:9. There is no greater love.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. I John 3:4.
And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:24-25.
