September 15, 2015 – Psalm 25:4-5

Untitled-1Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.  Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you.  Psalm 25:4-5Driving down a darkened street in East St. Louis one night, I noticed men on the street motioning to me to turn around.  I wondered why, until I noticed I was going down a one-way street, the wrong way.  How had that happened?  I corrected the error as quickly as possible.  In nightmare dreams, I wondered what would have happened if I continued on my way. There so many likely choices to make in our lifetime, roads that beckon us.  When we moved to a new city, we looked for a new home.  One street name enticed me, Easy Street.  We often want to live on Easy Street when things were difficult! It is when we live on The Street of Truth, at the intersection of Teach Me, O Lord, that we find hope and learn to trust Him, Who Saves us.  Those who are stubborn and refuse to listen to the Lord’s voice will fall by the wayside, stumbling on rocks of pride and arrogance.  They fall into crevices of selfishness.Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.  Psalm 86:11But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The Lord is great!” Psalm 40:16.Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:33-34

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. Psalm 9:10
