September 13, 2021 – Hebrews 11:8
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8.
How important is Faith? In this Faith Chapter, we find, And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6.
Often I have marveled at Abraham’s faith at 99 years, to take the words of a stranger as reason to travel to a land of promise God would give him. He would receive a promise of his inheritance from God. Would I believe such a promise?
I would want to know more of the credibility of the strangers, and see their identity! We have the Word of God, the Bible, that tells us where this world comes from, Who created the universe and Who created us, yet we hesitate.
Dear Father in Heaven, I come to you to ask You Who created all we see, to help my unbelief. Strengthen my faith in You, O Lord. I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
When I see the wonders all about us, and see the faith of others in You, I delight in meditating on Your Word. For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Psalm 57:10.
By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore. Hebrews 11:9-10, 12.
