September 12, 2017 – John 10:2-3

John 10:2-3 – But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Who are you following?  Whom do you identify with in this life? Who is the ‘gate keeper’ who knows your name? In the noise of today’s voices, do you recognize His Voice?  Are you listening, yet confused?  Verses 9-11 of the same chapter explain from the words of Jesus.

Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.  The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.  John 10:9-11.

The first question we have learned to ask is — Are these words fake, or are they truth?  Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6.  How long has Jesus been?  The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I am!” John 8:57-58

How can we know with certainty that Jesus IS?  I Corinthians 1:6-9 is truth. This confirms that what I told you about Christ is true.  Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.  God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.    Follow the voice of Jesus!

John 10:4 – After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.
