September 11, 2019 – Psalm 47:1-4

Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy! For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth. He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet. He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves. God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. Psalm 47:1-4.

On such a day of remembering, how can we clap our hands?  How can we sing praises to God? Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation  and my God.  Psalm 42:5. Remembering shines Light on Hope.

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him.  Psalm 63:5.  Again and again, our Lord God awakens our Hope as we trust in Him.  He sets the way for a life of joy before us.  He sent His Son Jesus Who taught us many things.  Jesus spoke for His Father, and we have His teachings.  Love God with all our hearts, and love each other. Wait on the Lord.  Trust the Lord.  Be kind, patient, think more of others than ourselves.  Have a servant heart.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ marks the moment when our Hope is born. Jesus told Thomas, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope.  Psalm 130:5.  Is it any wonder  I rejoice, clap my hands, and follow Jesus?

Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth;  sing praises with a psalm!  God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.  Psalm 47:6-8.
