Reflections on the “The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases!” December 10, 2024
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I will hope in Him.” Lamentations 3:22- 24.
When did the God’s steadfast love begin? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis1:1.
What is it about God that makes us Trust Him? When I read the verses Matthew 28:19-20, I knew He will never leave me. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness, To deliver their soul from death And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Psalm 33:18-21.
How much does God love? I didn’t see the essence of God’s Creations – the lofty mountains, the vast deep oceans, until I asked Mother why she loved flowers so much. She answered, “Because God created them!” Once I waded into the Pacific Ocean and experienced God’s power in the water pull me further into the ocean.
He loves us so much that He has given us a job to help Him to carry out the job He wants us to do…to invite us to be His ambassador for redemption. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:16-18. But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth. Psalm 86:15.
What joy it is to know how much God loves you and me! God loves us so much, He asked His only Son to become a sacrifice for our sins. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17.
How do we thank God for His Goodness, Hope, Steadfastness, Faithfulness with never-ending thoughts, and the breath in our lungs, and His Love? There is no way except to accept Jesus God’s Son, Trust, and Believe and Obey.
By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to a city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. Hebrews 11:8-10. (ESV)
This I recall to my mind, Therefore, I have hope. The Lord’s Lovingkindnesses, indeed, never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:21-23.
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You, I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed. My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt. Psalm 71:22-24.
He, Himself, bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds, you were healed. For you, were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. 1 Peter:4-25.
So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. Ephesians 5:17-21.
Most pleasing and important to God and to Jesus who will judge us, is in I John 4:7-10…Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this, the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13.
