Reflections on “My Hope is in Jesus!” July 9, 2024

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5.

What is Hope? To live with expectation and trust something will come to pass.  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. Jeremiah 29:11.

What does Love, Believing, and Enduring bring about in our lives? Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. I Corinthians 13.7.

When Jesus left this earth after being raised from the dead, He promised The Holy Spirit would be sent to live in our hearts. He would send gifts. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.

These are gifts that are not for sale in our world now, they only come from the Holy Spirit. You might say these attributes from God are what steadies our soul. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I Peter 1:3-5.

May this be our prayer each day! May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13.

How can we doubt the words in John 14:1-3? “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am, you may be also. John 14:1-3.

As a young girl, my Dad drove home through Oklahoma, I looked out the window and could see God use His mighty hands to form the mountains and valleys. I wondered why He chose the sky to be blue and the grass to be green.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” Lamentations 3:24-25.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6: 33. In answer to: What shall we eat, drink, or wear, for God knows we have need of such things.

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20.

Are you eager for Jesus to come? I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. Psalm 130:5-6. How serious are we in serving others and obeying God’s commands to be doers of His Word and not hearers only? Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.  I Corinthians 15:51-52.

This is how it will be! Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be, has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure. 3 John 3:2-3.
