Reflection on “Glorifying God Through Serving Jesus!” March 11, 2025
Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God. Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking actual words of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. I Peter 4:9-11.
Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person. Genesis 2:7. Remember how each mother waits to hear the baby show signs of life at birth? Have you wondered where the breath came from? Our Lord God! The Author of Life. That is not the only Gift from God.
I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35.
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because He is opposed to the proud, but He gives grace to the humble. I Peter 5:5b. My bout with pride came at the age of 12 when I played a piano duet with my Mom Sunday Night. How proud I was when I left the stage and slipped down the steps, loudly ‘splatted’ on the floor. I crawled to the front pew, saying to myself, “Pride goeth before a fall!” Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs16:18.
Breath and life were not the only gifts from God. His Gifts had a purpose. And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, and various kinds of tongues. All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not
workers of miracles, are they? All do not have gifts of healing, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? But earnestly desire the greater gifts. I Corinthians 12:28-31
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.
And you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:6-8. Earnestly desire the greater gifts. And yet, I am going to show you a far better way. I Corinthians 12:31.
I will raise my eyes to the mountains; From where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who watches over you will not slumber. Behold, He who watches over Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your protector; The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not beat down on you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. Psalms 121:1-7.
Seek the Lord, All you humble of the earth Who have practiced His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will remain hidden. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord, And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:14-17.
When we accept God, we are to become His Ambassadors, Our words must be His, and our actions speak loudly of what we believe in Him. And it all begins with LOVE. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35.
And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
