Reflection on “Being His!” March 25, 2025
In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, Zephaniah 3:16-17.
Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad
and rejoice with all your heart He glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem”. Zephaniah 3:14.
How can we belong to our Shepherd? The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Psalm 23:1-3.
What is the commandment from Jesus to make Him ours? Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:3-38.
Loving God with our hearts, souls, and minds takes all of us. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7.
When I think of all the intricacies of the human body, I am in awe and wonder at the power of our glorious God and Father. To be ‘in’ Christ means we have accepted His sacrifice on the cross as payment for our sins. Studying the Bible and obeying His commands, trusting Him to have His Way, and disregarding our own desires.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. The word new is not an outside fulfillment of a desire, but an inward change to value The Word of God and following Him.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He gives us instructions to follow the pathway with the Truth, leading to Eternal Life.
What do we get out of trusting Him? King David wrote the answer in Psalm 5. But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord will bless the righteous; With favor, You will surround him as with a shield. Psalm 5:11-12.
Even after we accept Jesus, we still live in the old tent where we see Evil and sin, but now we see them in a new perspective as they cannot control us. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6.
When we trust Him each day and believe in Jesus, we wake each day with thanksgiving in our hearts because we realize the Gracious Lord has provided the Way. This is the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:23-24.
Each day we are to be thankful for the Day God has given us. His purpose is to love and redeem us and strengthen us through His constant Presence.
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:6.
How weak we feel each day to follow our Lord God and His Way. And yet we learn this: And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26.
