October 8, 2020 – I Peter 4:7-8

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. I Peter 4:7-8.

“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:12-13.  Jesus is coming!  Our time on earth is one of self-control and loving one another.

When our first concern is others and their well-being, we are learning to love one another.  When we are kind to others in the name of Jesus, we begin to love like Jesus. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 13:34.

O, Giver of Life, I entrust my soul to our faithful Creator to do good.  Help me to obey the Gospel, the good news of our Lord, that our sins are forgiven when we abide in Him.  I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LordBe glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Psalm 32:10-11.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? Therefore, let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. 1 Peter 4:17, 19.
